We are proud to announce that we have successfully completed the acquisition of LEONI Fiber Optics GmbH, j-Plasma, and LEONI Fiber Optics from the LEONI Group – and are now continuing to handle Fiber Optics, which has been very successful to date, as a family business on a sustainable basis. Securing high-quality jobs in Germany and the United States and further strengthening our innovative capabilities are of particular concern. Why Photonics?
Photonics has been establishing itself as the leading technology in many areas, such as data transmission. Older technologies for the production and processing of components of various materials, whether they are metals, plastics, or glass, are being replaced by new technologies such as 3D printing or laser welding, cutting, or engraving. Those are often more efficient, or they even enable completely new, previously impossible production concepts.
In medicine, endoscopic imaging applications have been common for a long time. In laser medicine, new minimally invasive surgical methods have been established, and the development of optical coherence tomography (OCT) introduced new imaging techniques. Minimally invasive spectrometric in vivo analysis methods have also been developed for some time.
These are all just a few examples of the ever-increasing variety of applications of photonics. Evidentially, specific optical components optimized for its application are needed everywhere. We at WEINERT Industries have focused on the development and production of passive as well as active optical components.
We optimize fiber-optic light transmission by handling the entire value creation process in-house, from the production of the raw glass (preforming), through fiber drawing and cable manufacturing, to the custom-manufactured optical component.
Thanks to our deep understanding of the very different technologies, we can optimize the properties of the final product in every single value-added step, starting from the application backward, to generate the highest possible added value for you as our customer.
